FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF SOUTH RICHMOND

“THE CHANGE BEGINS WITH ME”

SEASON OF CHANGE 2013

The Change Begins with Me! Let us Rise Up and Build (Nehemiah 2:18)! This is the theme of Phase II of our Capital Campaign.  The First Baptist Church Family has embarked upon a faith journey.  Several years ago we prayed together as a church family that God would enlarge our territory and indeed He did!  What began as a need and plan to build at the Hull Street site has resulted in a vision from God to expand our ministry to the Chesterfield County community.

The journey has spanned more than seven years and two worship sites.  We began holding worship services at Hening Elementary School.  Fifteen families were asked to plant the service.  Since that time, God has moved us from Hening Elementary, with 15 families to our current temporary site at Meadowbrook High School where we are blessed with 400-500 worshipers each Sunday.  We continue to hold services at our Hull Street Location, 1501 Decatur Street and our Ironbridge Location, each Sunday.  Indeed we have realized our vision of being “One Church in Two Locations, Two Ministries, One Heartbeat.”

Our vision is to build a facility that will serve the current and future needs of our congregation. We are building a legacy for generations to come.  We have purchased 23 acres of land which will serve as the site for our Worship Center in Chesterfield.   God is indeed enlarging our territory.

The faithfulness and commitment of our congregation to Phase I of our campaign, “The Season of Change” have kept us moving and allowed us to accomplish so much.  This initial campaign provided the resources to service the mortgage on our land, secure professional services, conduct services at the schools and meet other needs we have had as we prepare to build.

We are giving because we believe God!  We believe God keeps his promises and will allow us to build on Ironbridge Road.  We are giving because we recognize our mission of building the Kingdom of God here on earth.  We are giving to:

  1. Leave a legacy that far out lives us.
  2. Evangelize because we want to reach more souls for Christ.
  3. Strengthen families by providing a place in the community where families can grow in God and worship together.

We invite you to join us on this faith journey.  For more information on the Campaign, please schedule some time to speak with one of our Pastors or members of our ministerial staff. The invitation is not only for those who are part of the fellowship of First Baptist Church, but our friends and those who desire to partner with us.  We ask you to be prayerful and to give sacrificially,  above your tithe and offerings.  Everyone is asked to give something – Unequal Giving, But Equal Sacrifice!  With your prayer and support we will not only erect an edifice on Iron Bridge Road, but we will build the foundations of a Christ filled church for generations to come. To God Be The Glory…Great things He is doing right now!

“I will not offer to God that which costs me nothing.”
